- Day 10 -
I am so thankful that I committed to the 25 days of doing this blog leading up to Christmas. There have been days where I could have kicked myself, but even with the hustle of getting things ready, the list that keeps growing, still having the duties of everyday life.. it gives me a chance to sit and ponder; to remember what this season is all about.
This is a Finnish Star. An eight sided star, which is known to symbolize peace and unity. I am in love with it. love. Love. LOVE! I want to make a bagillion of them and hang them until you can’t see the ceiling! (okay, a little overboard, but… “love!”) Especially if they were silver or gold and sparkly! : ) Although this one is pretty darn cute! I had seen them before and thought they were lovely; I could not wait to try it out for myself. I found the instructions on how to make it, but used double-sided scrapbook paper and my mighty Mod Podge. I garnished it with a button on top of a button and a little stick-on rhinestone.
Beautiful, huh? Or in the words of Rachel Zoe, “beyond, beyond, beyond”. : )
I can’t help but smile when I look at it. It makes me feel tranquil, which is why I must love it so much; especially at this time of year. It’s Christmas! (in case your forgot) So, in your race to finish up your shopping, wrapping, baking, card writing, etc.. take a moment to remember; it is the season to love. Be joyful. Be peaceful. Be good. Be nice to the person stealing your parking spot. ; )
“Are you willing to believe that love is the strongest thing in the world – stronger than hate, stronger than evil, stronger than death – and that the blessed life which began in Bethlehem nineteen hundred years ago is the image and brightness of the Eternal Love? Then you can keep Christmas.” - Henry Van Dyke
