- Day 9 -
I know most kids tear wrapping paper to shreds without even glimpsing at it in an attempt to get to what it’s concealing… but, it’s still important to me. The wrapping on a present can say just as much as the present itself, especially to people who truly appreciate the artistry of it. Real Simple has an article with some really fun ideas on how to add more character to your gift wrapping. Have a jolly time with it!
For example, this (or any coloring page) would look fabulous wrapped around a box of crayons or colored pencils. Probably colored pencils for this one… it would be tough getting inside these lines without a sharper point. I used to love to color and doodle in the wording. Used to? Ha! Still do, actually! I guess there are some things you just never grow out of.
Using Microsoft Publisher, I typed out the names of Santa’s reindeer in different fonts and inserted a clipart picture of a reindeer. Once everything was placed where I wanted it, I grouped it together so that I could resize it without disturbing the layout; copied it… then pasted and arranged until the page was full. Do a print preview to make sure you like the finished look, then click print. I added a red stick-on rhinestone to one of the reindeer to make Rudolph. Santa’s gotta have that light, ya know?
