tile, tile, oh glorious tile!

I have had tile on my mind A LOT over the last few days, especially turquoise and robin egg blue tile!  I know I want these colors for our master bathroom (robin egg) and the backsplash in the kitchen (turquoise); so I’ve been hunting down some pictures of tile that I like and dream about having around this place, to look at and sigh at and enjoy. This is what has really struck a cord with me so far…

This one is part of the Asteria collection by Ann Sacks.  Breathtaking, isn’t it?

I just love how you can see all the varying shades of blue, blue-green and green in the tile ↓, and let’s not forget those beautiful pyrite flecks (also known as fool’s gold)! They use jewelry-grade turquoise for this gorgeous collection, which sadly puts it out of our price range, but aahhh.. to dream!

I know for sure that I want these frosted subway tiles from Modwalls for our bathroom.  I just haven’t decided on the exact color yet.  I’ve narrowed it down to two- the first one is called Pool and the second is Surf.  Which do you like best?

I also have an infatuation with crackle glaze ceramic tiles, however I do want them bigger than 1×1 and preferably from this country.  I just thought these were too fun to not post. They come from Middle Earth Tiles.  (There are all kinds of Lord of the Rings comments I could be making right now… I’m restraining myself.) ; )

This is a picture from Anna Maria Horner‘s blog.  As you can see, your attention is being directed to the food (which does look yummy!), but my eyes darted right to the tile backsplash.  It. is. exactly. what. I. want. Exactly!

I used this photo (thank you Anna!) to compare to every tile I found online that I thought might be similar. I finally stumbled upon a photo of this (↓) brick tile with hand applied crackle glaze. It is sold by Urban Archaeology.  I called to get information and spoke to a very nice assistant with a very distinct accent (from which origin I’m not sure).  He asked me if I was in the city (NY) and if I was planning on coming into the showroom to look around?  {{Sigh}}  I wish.  But, he’s going to get some information for me and call me back. I hope it’s not too too pricey.

Here are some others that I find fun and may try to use somewhere.  (I’d tile this whole place if Damon let me.  Ok, that’s not true.. but I’d tile a lot of this place!)  This tile is by Heath Ceramics.  The turquoise calls to me.  I just love it!

I also love this yellow color…  I NEED to find somewhere to put this!!  Maybe the basement once it’s finished.  Oh, yes… I can see it now.  : D

and this one…  although when studying it.. I think it’s the open shevling and the green dishes and cookware that draw me in.  I want open shelving so badly.  My Damon told me that good things come to those who wait… I’m waiting. : )

and these at Tierra y Fuego… so many fun ones to choose from…

I could seriously go on all day about this but, I must stop.  I’ve put off my daily duties long enough for today.  Happy Thursday!
