Lemonade? Yes, please!

Craigslist find of the day:

Guess it’s just a 1950′s couch kinda couple-a-days! $145 for this beauty. P.S. – I would make the pics bigger for you if I could, but I’m giving you what the seller puts out there. Sorry.

… and now on to a more crucial matter.  Have you ever heard the saying.. “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade.”  I have, and I get it.  Try to over come the “lemon” and make the best out of a bad situation. But what happens when life hands you rotten lemons?  Can you seriously make anything good out of this… Meet Osman – cute little guy huh?  I’m a complete sucker for the cheeks. : )  Life has handed him and his family some pretty rotten lemons.  We just started sponsoring him through Lemonade International.  They are a non-profit organization that invests not only their time and money into the people of the La Limonada ghetto in Guatemala City, but also their hearts.  Their commitment and passion to help the men, women and children of this despondent place is one of the most beautiful acts of love I’ve seen; I think Jesus is proud.  : )

Lemonade International kicked off a new campaign yesterday – 50 states in 50 days. They currently have monthly partners in 23 states and are coming after the other 27. Beware. ; ) They have a few different sponsorship options, so click on the map below for more info and to see if your state is represented.  Hey, maybe you can even start one of those facebook groups – “Pennsylvania (<- your state here) has more Lemonade sponsors than any other state.”  : )

They’re not asking for you to fix the lives of these people, but maybe we can hand them some good lemons; give them a starting point and the opportunity to make some fresh lemonade for once.  What do ya think?
